ABOUT OUR ORGINIZATION
The Ghana Physicians and Surgeons Foundation of North America (GPSF) was established to support the mission of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons (GCPS) which was established by an Act of Parliament in 2002 to provide quality postgraduate training in Medicine in Ghana. It also serves as an advocacy group to influence health policy and educate the general public about numerous health care issues in Ghana and Africa. The foundation supports all non-profit health initiatives in Ghana by Ghanaian and other health professionals in North America.
The Foundation has over 200 members across the United States and Canada. If you are a physician or health care professional with vested interest in improving healthcare delivery in Ghana and living in the USA or Canada then consider joining the foundation and contribute in any way possible to help it grow and achieve its objectives.
The Foundation offers academic and logistic support for members interested in becoming members of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons.
The Foundation offers varying levels of collaboration with members and non-members who have medical and health-care related projects in Ghana. It also collaborates with medical groups offering missionary services in Ghana.
MEDICAL & DENTAL COUNCIL REGISTRATION
Helps facilitate registration with the Ghana Medical and Dental Council. Registration is necessary for all physicians and dentists who plan to practice medicine in Ghana or perform any research that requires patient contact.
ANNUAL CME CONFERENCES
Opportunity to participate in the Foundation’s annual CME conference where members share ideas and present their work at a discounted rate. It is also an opportunity to network with colleagues, meet friends and collaborate.
Supports the mission of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons & non-profit health initiatives in Ghana by North America diaspora health advocates.
